Join Ustad Noor Bakhsh, whose deeply expressive style channels rhythms of the Makran coast, birdsong, and the spirit of centuries-old traditions, for an evening of music that moves effortlessly between folk, classical and improvisation, creating a sound that’s both rooted and otherworldly.

Ustad Noor Bakhsh will be playing Live in the unique forest ambience of Lickey Hills' Beacon Valley for an intimate, one-off gathering, reminiscent of South Asian Bhaitak culture.

Ustad Noor Bakhsh comes from near Pasni, Balochistan. He is a master of the Balochi Benju - a traditional instrument adapted from the Japanese taishokoto - whose electric, experimental style draws from Balochi music, South Asian Raags, and folk tunes across Pakistan, including Sindhi and Bollywood songs. His playing, shaped by both local and African influences, gained international attention with his debut album 'Jingul,' released digitally in 2022 and on vinyl in 2023, highlighting the rich, cross-cultural heritage of his region, which he is now sharing with audiences in Birmingham for the first time. We warmly invite you for Ustad Noor Bakhsh’s debut performance in our city.
