Two of the biggest challenges facing the creative industries right now are a long-term skills shortage and a lack of diversity in the sector. The Bristol Creative Industries Internship Programme is tackling those issues.
In partnership with Babbasa and the OurCity2030 Pathway into Creative & Tech, the scheme gives young people aged 18-30 from underrepresented backgrounds real experience in the creative industries.
Interns complete two three-month paid internships over six months at businesses from the BCI member community in and around Bristol. The interns benefit from training, inspirational talks, networking events, mentoring and opportunities for future employment, with training in equity, diversity, and inclusion, mental health and neurodiversity for the hosting businesses.
Following the big success of last year’s pilot programme, we are looking for brilliant businesses to join us for round two. If you are interested in supporting this innovative scheme and helping to tackle the lack of diversity in the creative sector, join this online event to find out more.
We will cover:
What is required to become a host business
Key dates for 2024
Training and development opportunities
How the programme can positively impact your business
There will be a chance to ask questions and hear from some of last year’s participants.
Internship programme manager Clare Leczycki will host the session alongside other members of the BCI team. We look forward to sharing our exciting plans for 2024 and how they can benefit your business.
