Catastrophic Bleeding Control
The HSE have recently updated their guidance on Life-Threatening Bleeding with agricultural businesses now required to have at least one person trained to deal with Life-Threatening Bleeding.
On top of this, it is important to note that employers should make sure first-aiders undertake any training additional to the FAW/EFAW or equivalent qualification, as appropriate to the circumstances of the workplace. For example, more in-depth training would be advisable where work activities involve the use of hydrofluoric acid, working in confined spaces or working outdoors or in remote locations.
About this course
This specialised training equips learners with essential skills in controlling catastrophic bleeding, including the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings in high-risk settings. Learners will gain hands-on knowledge for managing severe blood loss in high-hazard workplaces such as agriculture, forestry, construction, or remote locations.
The course will cover:
- Application of haemostatic dressings and wound packing.
- Proper use of tourniquets for life-threatening bleeding.
Please note that the ticket price includes both training and catering costs. Every effort has been made to subsidise the price of this course, and no profit is made by this event. Please email any dietary requirements to farmingengagement@cornishmutual.co.uk
