Event description

Join Cornish Mutual and the Forestry Commission at Halscombe Farm to explore the value trees can bring to sustainable farm systems.

Part of the Perridge Estate, Halscombe Farm has 150 acres of organic permanent pasture and herbal leys grazing beef and sheep, as well as an experimental area of grazed broadleaf woodland and a walnut plantation.

Hosted by landowner and former Forestry Commission chair Harry Studholme, this event offers first-hand insight into combining trees and farming successfully. With more than 35 years’ experience as a forester and farmer, Harry has a deep understanding of how integrating trees, livestock and pasture can strengthen farm resilience.

The walk includes:

·         What agroforestry means in practice

·         Common myths and misconceptions

·         The advantages trees can bring farmers

·         Factors to consider before planting

Expect open discussion, practical learning and time to reflect on how trees might fit within a profitable farming system.

🥧 Pasties, tea & coffee provided
