During our recent Lesbian Visibility Week event one message came through clearly: there are still very few intentional spaces for LGBTQ+ women to connect professionally, socially and authentically.
So we decided to create one.
Join Pride in Leadership for a relaxed and welcoming networking lunch bringing together LGBTQ+ women leaders and aspiring leaders from across sectors and career stages for an afternoon of conversation, connection and community.
Pride in Leadership exists to elevate, connect and support LGBTQ+ leaders and aspiring leaders. This event is part of that mission. Creating space for people to build relationships, share experiences, grow their networks and feel part of a wider community.
This event is open to all women, including trans and non-binary people who share women’s lived experiences and feel comfortable participating in women-centred spaces.
The Beeswing is a warm and welcoming neighbourhood wine bar and tapas kitchen in the heart of Manchester, known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautifully curated wine list and Spanish-inspired food. Specialising in exceptional wines and traditional tapas dishes, it has become one of Manchester’s best-loved hidden gems, offering the perfect setting for conversation, connection and community.
Proudly woman-owned and women-led, the venue combines style and warmth in equal measure. Located within the KAMPUS garden neighbourhood, The Beeswing is just a four-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly station and close to Manchester’s Gay Village. The venue is fully accessible.
12.30pm | Arrival drinks and networking
1.00pm | Lunch served
Short talks and facilitated conversations will take place between courses, with informal networking continuing throughout the afternoon.
3.00pm | Official finish, although attendees are very welcome to stay and continue conversations afterwards.
Bread and olives for the table
Non-vegetarian option - Moorish-style skewers (chicken and pork) with roasted vegetables and crispy patatas.
Vegetarian option - Moorish-style halloumi & aubergine skewers served with roasted vegetables & crispy patatas.
Basque cheesecake
One drink included (choice of house wine, beer or soft drink)
£65 per person
Places are limited to 50 attendees to help keep the event welcoming, conversational and genuinely connected, so we encourage early booking.
Whether you are looking to expand your network, meet other LGBTQ+ women in leadership and professional roles, build friendships, find collaborators, or simply spend time in a space where you do not need to explain yourself, this lunch is for you.
We know that visibility matters. But so do connection, community and having spaces where LGBTQ+ women can speak openly about work, leadership, ambition and life with people who understand some of those experiences.
We hope this will be the first of many.
We are currently seeking a sponsor for this event. This is an opportunity for a successful LGBTQ+ woman leader, or an organisation committed to equality to help grow and strengthen this fledgling community. By sponsoring the event, you will raise the profile of your business, while helping create meaningful spaces for connection, visibility and support.
