Youth & Tech: Building Healthier Digital Futures

to

Location

NatWest Accelerator Bristol, Trinity Street, Avon Street, Bristol, UK

Event description

How can technology better support young people’s wellbeing and what happens when it doesn’t?

Join Tech4Good South West for inspiring stories and honest conversation exploring the intersection of youth, mental health, and technology. This showcase brings together voices from youth work, digital innovation, and wellbeing services who are tackling some of today’s most urgent questions:

  • How do we help young people use tech positively and build digital skills for life?

  • What can we do about screen time, online harms, and tech addiction?

  • How might digital tools, creativity and community support better mental health?

Expect short lightning talks, a collaborative panel discussion, and time to connect with others who care about creating healthier digital futures, including:

Space Youth Services - Matt Bakall (Digital Youth Work Specialist)

A youth work organisation in Devon supporting young people from all backgrounds through youth centres, digital youth work, street-based outreach, mentoring and well-being projects, offering safe spaces, someone to talk to, and opportunities to try new things.

Youth Connect South West - Sam Plummer (Interim CEO / Head of Operations and Practice)

An independent charity working with 11-25-year-olds in Bath & North East Somerset (and beyond) delivering both universal and targeted support — youth work, 1:1 mentoring, careers advice, bespoke education and alternative provision to help young people thrive.

Promo-Cymru - Arielle Tye (Head of Digital)

A Welsh social enterprise and charity that partners with third‐sector and public bodies to co-create digital youth information, helplines and creative services, using digital media and youth voice to design more equitable services for young people.

Lifelites - Saskia Norori-McCormac (Senior Engagement and Fundraising Officer)

A charity providing assistive and sensory technology, specialist training and tech-support for children and young people (particularly those with life-limiting or disabling conditions) so that they can engage, communicate, play and connect with the world around them.

Whether you work in youth services, mental health, education, or tech-for-good or are simply curious about how technology can be part of the solution - you’ll leave with fresh ideas, new connections, and renewed hope for what’s possible.
