Sharpen your observational skills and deepen your understanding of anatomy, gesture and form in this immersive life drawing workshop with Dorset artist Tom Winter. Drawing on over 25 years of teaching experience, Tom leads participants through a series of structured exercises using graphite, pencil, and charcoal.
The workshop is divided into two focused sessions:
Morning – Portrait Drawing: Participants will work from a live sitter to develop their skills in capturing likeness, structure and expression.
Afternoon – Gesture & Movement: Working from a clothed model, participants will explore the body in motion, practising dynamic gesture drawing and mark-making to convey energy and form.
With an emphasis on proportion, movement and the expressive potential of mark-making, this workshop offers a rich, hands-on exploration of figure drawing. Suitable for both beginners and experienced artists, the session equips participants with stronger fundamentals, new approaches and renewed confidence in capturing the human form.
Spaces are limited – book early to secure your place and spend a rewarding day drawing with one of Dorset’s most experienced portrait and life-drawing tutors.
All materials included plus complimentary tea/coffee and cake.
Please bring your own lunch.
This is a class for age 18+.
