Event description

Spend a rewarding day learning with one of Dorset’s most experienced tutors and recent participant of Sky’s Landscape Artist of the Year Season 11 (airing from January 2026), Tom Winter.

Learn the rudiments or advance your knowledge of still life using materials of your choice.

This workshop is running alongside Tom’s solo exhibition, Lightscapes, in the gallery at Coda Music & Arts Trust.

Please bring your own art materials to the workshop including a sketchbook and pencils plus your preference  in terms of paints/pastels/inks etc alongside painting surfaces (canvas, stretched watercolour paper etc).  Please also bring a camera/camera phone.

Spaces are limited to 10 – please book early to secure your place.

This is a class for age 18+.

Although homemade cake and light refreshments will be provided throughout the day, you will need to bring your own packed lunch.

Profile of the artist:

Dorset-based artist Tom Winter is a Slade School graduate and has worked as an artist and tutor for the past 30 years. Specialising in oils, he also works in watercolour, graphite, and inks alongside  producing prints (lino and intaglio etchings).

His paintings are part of many prestigious private collections including Price Waterhouse Coopers and musician Ronnie Wood.
