Strawberry Growing Workshop

Short description
One day workshop for commercial growers and gardeners, learning about propagation, site preparation, care & selling of organic strawberries.
to

Location

Hardwick Road, Whitchurch-on-Thames, Reading RG8 7RB, UK

Event description

Strawberries are potentially a very profitable crop, particularly useful to fill the hungry gap between early May and end of June, but also with some varieties and cultural techniques having the potential to crop over most of the summer. They are tolerant of a wide range of soils and relatively free of pest and disease problems when grown in a well-developed organic system.

We have a long history of strawberry growing going back to the mid-seventies and have perfected a viable, reliable and successful system of production. We are happy to share our experiences to the benefit of all growers. You will be able to see our dedicated propagation unit, early tunnel production, early outdoors under cloches and outdoor later production all presently within the Walled Garden.

You will leave the workshop equipped with practical knowledge and tips to start or improve your own strawberry growing enterprise.
